Using the near magical Izotope RX10 software suite, along with other processing plugins by Acon Digital, Voxengo, and Wave Arts, we can perform selective noise reduction, and the removal of hums, buzzes, plosives, sibilances, clicks, tics and crackles. Using RX10’s excellent “spectral repair” options we can, in most cases, even seamlessly “erase” undesired events such as piano pedal noise and chair scrapes, while leaving the underlying musical audio intact.
